A mycelial network has no organs to move the world, no hands…
- Terrence McKenna
Imagine being a plant with no eyes, no ears and no hands.
Work in pairs.
Put earplugs in your ears and blindfold yourself. Let your partner tie your hands behind your back.
Explore the space around you using your sense of touch, that is distributed all over the skin enveloping your body. How do surfaces or shapes feel when you touch them with the front or the back of your knee; with your cheek or your little toe?
Your partner should be close-by in case you get dangerously close to hurting yourself
After 15-20 minutes, exchange roles and repeat.
Have a conversation about your experiences afterwards.
In order to truly train your sense of touch, repeat this exercise at least once a week for 10 years.
